and then she met a man who gave her his undivided love and attention. she fell fast - head completely over heels. he showed her a way to escape from the realities of life. to feel alive. she became addicted to the feeling, not realizing that her life was being consumed. [break][break]
the perfect daughter grew reckless. the press had to be bought out more than once. she was living in the fast lane with the love of her life: the bonnie to his clyde. his derogative remarks, painful grips, and more were masked by the love in her eyes. she had convinced herself that he had her best intentions in mine.[break][break] until she found herself cold, trembling, and vision fading on the flood. clyde abandoned his bonnie. he didn't even try to save her, never touched the phone to dial 911. 
[break][break]kept under wraps by the stone family, she was transferred to a rehabilitation center. it was a long and laborious process. the withdrawal, her wild emotions, the looks of her family.. however, she began to recover. years of self-hatred were finally being openly talked about (albeit not to her family).
[break][break]her father died (from what she was told were from a complication in his health) while she was away. she had never been that close to him but the death impacted her greatly. the last time he had seen her, she had been a complete mess. he died knowing how much of a disaster his youngest was: skin and bones, shivering bones. 
[break][break]alexander, daphne, and her mom told her to focus on her health. the guilt of missing her father's funeral still lingers in her gut but she knows that it was for the best. 
[break][break]her progress was slow but steady. eventually, she was able to move to alola where she continued to attend therapy sessions and focus on healing, focus on herself while surrounded by a warm environment. at least, that's how it was until news she never thought she would hear reached her.
[break][break]alexander stone was dead. her family had been hesitant to tell her but they knew it would be impossible given the media coverage. she booked a flight to hoenn without hesitation. demons awaited her there but she had coping methods - proper ones - to hopefully keep her head afloat. and, for once, she felt confident in her own skin. she was veronica stone, not the nameless youngest that she thought she was. if people didn't know who she was then she was going to shatter their expectations.
